Better contact

Hitting the hosel?

Do not rebuild your whole swing from one bad shot. Confirm where the ball hit the face, slow down, and find the center again.

15-minute practice plan

One job: center contact

  1. Confirm the strike.Lightly spray the clubface with foot powder. Hit five easy shots and check the mark after each one.
  2. Make the swing smaller.Use a pitching wedge. Swing waist-high to waist-high at about half speed.
  3. Build a tee gate.Place two tees just wider than the clubhead. Swing through without touching either tee.
  4. Earn more speed.Hit three centered half-swings, then three three-quarter swings, then three full swings. Drop back a level if the hosel returns.
  5. Save the pattern.Record center, heel, or toe after each set. Keep the smallest swing that produces reliable center contact.

After one hosel strike

Step away

Take one slow rehearsal and feel balanced through the middle of both feet.

Choose easy contact

Use a shorter club and a 70% swing. The next goal is solid contact, not a perfect result.

Let MyCaddie remember it.

Open Quick Log and record the simple truth: center, heel, or toe. Your next practice goal should come from the pattern, not one swing.
